Today I come to you with another cereal option from my local LIDL supermarket. Again from the in-store brand Crownfield. Again, another granola cereal with a very uncreative name, but it gets the job across. This is their most basic granola option, now with 0% added sugars. We will discuss the sweetness in and the flavour momentarily.

First I would like to start with reviewing the aestetics and the packing.

Again we have very simple packaging but this time in a plastic non-resealable baggie. Again, for me the design is actually acceptable and appealing. There is not too much in the way of what is being advertised. We simply see a white bowl filled with the granola and a few nuggets of granola and wheat garnished around the surface surrounding it. The light blue background makes a good contrast for me. I believe it follows good colour theory. Balancing a good harmony using really only two complimentary colours. The warm yellow/orange of the wheat and granola and the soft cooler blue to add a soft backdrop that does not get in the way of what we are suppossed to be looking at. Also I must emphasize that the cereal you see on the package looks like the cereal you get in the bowl. Good job Crownfield.

Now personally I prefer when my cereals come from the paperboard box. I find them more convenient to store, they are very easy to reseal with those paperboard tabs, and I can resue them for crafts should I choose to. However I will admit that it is not a bad thing for a brand to omit the boxes in favour of sealing their product in just a bag as opposed to a bag and then a box.

Now for the cereal and flavour itself.

Above is a bowl-shot to show how it looks overall. In a clear bowl with milk.

Aesthetically it looks very nice. The size of the granola nuggets are great. They tend to stay well clumped together even while sitting in milk for a little bit. For me a good chunk is always a big plus. Likely due to this being one of the cheapest options in the store, it does not contain any extra goodie to add a nice yummy or natural flavour. No fruit, no nuts, just nuggets. This is often times acceptable, however I would likely prefer something to add to or change the flavour of this a bit more. While the flavour is fine (I do like it) it is not my prefered option. I am all for removing sugar, but instead of creating a more natural cereal, or using natural sugars like honey, they used other aditives instead. For those that don´t mind, this is a good breakfast option for you. In fact it doesn´t tast too disimilar to the fruit granola we reviewd last week. It is just more chalky and more sweet despite the lack of sugars. Again it´s okay and I do eat it from time to time, but it´s not something I would go reaching for every day. Perhaps when I had the munchies.

If it wasn´t for these beautiful clusters and that satisfying crunch, I´m not sure how exactly I would feel, to be honest. But look at this satisfying image above.

If you do not mind aditives and you are on a budget or just want a cheap crunchy little snack, I would recommend this if you have a LIDL nearby. There nothing to lose and only a decent cereal to gain.
